Jakil Say Goodbye to Edinburgh Tonight at Liquid Rooms
The five-piece from Edinburgh and Glasgow are heading for the big smoke and will say goodbye to all their fans in Edinburgh with a ‘Stonkin’ show at the newly refurbished Liquid Room, Victoria Street, tonight, Friday the 3rd September.
Jakil, have shared stages with James Morrison, Wheatus and the Zutons in recent years, and have won several industry awards, including being named Radio Forth's One to Watch, and described as "the best young band in Scotland" by The Scotsman.
Their first single was one of the bestsellers on iTunes for an unsigned band, and the influential BBC Radio 1 and Radio Scotland DJ Vic Galloway has predicted they will go on to sell millions of records.
Jakil have paid their dues on the Capital's music scene over the years, and feel ready to take everything they have achieved so far to the next level. Inevitably though, to breakthrough into the mainstream in a bigger way they will have to leave their hometown behind, hence the move to London.
The band has a massive fanbase in Edinburgh, but now they want to put themselves to the test and go where all the top bands live and work - London.
So, before they head off for the bright lights of London, the band will bid farewell to Edinburgh, with a ‘Farewell Gig’, playing their full set in all its glory, tonight.
As well as old favourite’s, Jakil will showcase their brand new EP, entitled More Or Less, which will be available to buy at tonight’s gig ahead of its digital iTunes release on September 13.
Jakil’s Farewell Gig, Liquid Room, Victoria Street, tonight, 7pm, £6, 0131-225 2564
